GOOD NEWS - KYLE WEEKS
Good News is Kyle Weeks’ vibrant portrait of youth culture in Accra, Ghana - an ever-evolving city on West Africa’s coast where fashion, identity, and self-expression intersect. Shot over six years, the project captures a generation unafraid to define itself, posing with poise and pride in both public and domestic spaces. Printed on tabloid paper and titled in direct contrast to the often negative portrayal of African youth in global media, Good News reframes the narrative - foregrounding creativity, confidence, and self-determination.

“On my first visit to Accra in 2016, the impeccable taste of its fashion-conscious youth made a lasting impression. Cutting through the outdated tropes of Africa's visual representation, the city's cosmopolitan locals - with their proud and authentic approach to style. Defiant and confident, this smartphone generation demands to be seen, and the ubiquity of cameras offers another means of self-expression and identity-building.”  - Kyle Weeks
